Make A Fabric Picture Frame From An Old Frame

It is very easy to make a fabric picture frame from an old picture frame that you have stored away somewhere. If you don't have an old frame you can get them at garage sales or thrift stores very cheaply.

To make the fabric picture frame just clean your old frame and dry. I use a little thin foam that you can get at craft stores to give the frame a soft feel. This looks especially nice with wedding pictures or baby pictures. Attach the foam with a little bit of tacky glue.

Cut your material a little bigger than the frame. Put tacky glue on the back of the frame on one side. Bring your material over and glue down. Apply glue to the opposite side and bring your material over and glue down. Now glue the top and bottom the same way you did the sides. You will have to make a fold to get it to fit right. You can also cut some of the corner away so that it won’t be quite so bulky.

After you have your material glued on take your ribbon or rick rack or whatever you are going to use and glue it on. On the picture above I used small shinny rick rack and wove them together. After the rick rack was on I applied tiny jewels.

You can use all kinds of material. I have used sports designs for boy’s pictures and also pretty little girls pint for girls. They make beautiful wedding frames and what a great gift to give to that just married couple. How about making one for the new baby! The mother will love and cherish the special frame for her baby.

If you have any questions or arts and crafts ideas please contact me and I will add it to my site.
