Garden Crafts Can Add Appeal To Any Home

There are many numerous garden crafts that can add charm to your outdoors. Just think of all of the old things you have around your house that you can recycle.

There are many different wreath ideas that you can use to change the look of your home. Decorate a straw hat with seed packages, small garden tools and even a pair of garden gloves. Add some seedpods and dried leaves. You can even add a spring colored ribbon. Grapevine wreaths look really nice with small butterflies or birdhouses that you can get at any craft store. You could even add a small string of twinkle lights to brighten it up.

Take your used tin cans and make candleholders for your patio or deck. Just fill the cans with water and freeze. Punch a design in the frozen can with a hammer and nail. After the ice melts and the can is dry, paint it with a rust resistant paint. You can also cut both ends out of the can and then hammer one end closed for a wall hanger. Drill 2 holes in the top and string some raffia in the holes to make a hanger. You can paint the can and then plant in it to hang up. These also look very nice indoors with dried flowers in them. They are a great accent piece and you can match the colors you have in your house to paint the can.

Now is the time to start making your own potpourri. Put your pruning’s into paper bags and add flower petals, leaves, seedpods and whatever looks pretty and smells like your garden. To boost the smell you can add scent oils that you can get at craft stores.

Remember to collect your lavender and tie with a pretty ribbon. Hang upside down to dry. You can use lavender to brighten up a gift basket or add to flower arrangements. Make sachets with them for your drawers or even to put in your dryer to sweeter up your clothes. If you make them for your dryer be sure to tie them very very tightly.

Give your old outdoor furniture new life. Paint your metal lawn chairs in bright colors to liven up your patio. Just be sure to use a primer first so they won’t rust. You can even give your mailbox a new look.

There are many different garden crafts for your outdoors but don’t forget indoors. There are numerous ways to bring the outdoors inside to add charm into any room of your house. A plain grapevine wreath can be used as a frame around a mirror. You can even add some ribbon or whatever decoration you would like. Add a vintage hat with silk flowers around the brim with a little bird. Make some new throw pillows with spring or summer fabrics.
