A Craft The Kids Really Like is Kid Face Painting
Kid face painting is made a lot easier and cheaper with your own face paint recipes. They are all made with common household ingredients.
Kids crafts are so much fun and they make their imagination work. You can make the recipes ahead of time for the kid’s party or your own dress up party. Just mix them and store them in small containers like baby food jars or use medicine bottles. I like the baby food jars the best but if you don't have a baby around the house they are hard to get. For children try these quick easy cheek designs:
- For girls: butterflies, stars, hearts, ladybugs, smiley faces and flowers of any kind.
- For boys: They love spider webs, beards, mustaches and scars.
Face painting Recipe #1
This is the easiest to make and clean off the face. It is easiest to make in egg cartons or a muffin tin. Place a tablespoon of cold cream into each cup. Add 1 or 2 drops of food coloring to the cold cream and stir. You can apply the face paint using a clean paintbrush, cotton swabs or small sponges. Transfer the paint to your jars and they will save for quite awhile. The face paint washes off with water.
Face painting Recipe #2
Mix 3 tbs cornstarch and 1 tbs flour together. Gradually stir in ¾ cup light corn syrup and ¼ cup water until smooth. Put the mixture in your muffin tins or egg cartons and tint each one with the food coloring. Wash off later with water. Whichever recipe you use just have fun with it. The kids will love making faces on each other.
