Lipton placemats

Lipton placemats

My Mom taught me to crochet way back in 1975, I was very young and for a long time, all I could manage to do was a chain stitch. I made lots of shoestrings and hair ribbons with those. LOL Eventually, I got the hang of adding rows and ever since then I've been "hooked". I have grown into making "picture afghans". I have lots of patterns, but if I don't have one, I have been known to make it up as I go along. I have made lots of things for my family and friends and have even sold a piece or two. I love making personalized gifts because that person knows they are special just because of the time and love that goes into my work. The project I am showcasing is one such item. My sister is redecorating her dining room and looked everywhere for Lipton placemats. She couldn't find the placemats and I couldn't find a pattern. I sat down with the tag off of a bag of tea and just started hooking. This is the final result. By the way, she stopped looking for placemats. I invite you to contact me with any comments or questions.

I love your crocheting. I never thought about making some of the things that you suggested for presents. I have crocheted for many years but just for myself.
