Flower Containers Can Be Made From Some Very Unusual Items

Here is a cool idea for flower containers. Have you ever wondered what to do with that old Igloo cooler you have setting around the house?

I hate throwing anything away. I guess I am what you call a pack rat. Well the landfills are full of things that people don’t want anymore. I just figure I don’t want to add to the collection so I save everything.

I was cleaning out my storage shed one day and came across an old Igloo cooler that didn’t really work anymore as a cooler. I thought that I should throw it away and I got to thinking that it would make a really cute and different kind of outdoor planter.

My husband drilled some holes in the bottom of it and then I filled it with soil. You can either plant evergreen plants that will be there all year long of else seasonal flowers. I like to plant flowers in mine. These flower containers look really nice.

They look nice when you incorporate them in a rock garden. On one side of my house I have gravel. I put the igloo planter there with my flowers and it really dressed the spot up. I just have to think of what else I can put there.

If you would rather not plant in them just fill it will sand and set your potted plants in them. They look very nice that way.

There is no end to what you can do with things you no longer need. Just use your imagination!

I hope this igloo planter gets your mind working with what you can do with things around the house. If you have found a unique way to use those old discarded items you have and want to share them please contact me and I will put your idea on my web page.
